Au sommet se trouve le CISSS du Bas-Saint-Laurent 4446 $. La moyenne des CISSS est de 3405 $. Pour les séjours en salle commune, la moyenne des CISSS est pratiquement la même que celle des CIUSSS 1310 $, mais les écarts vont de 835 $ Montérégie-Ouest à 2085 $ Baie-James. Le ministère de la Santé n’a pas fait d’analyse spécifique pour comprendre ces différences de coûts. Toutefois, des analyses passées ont démontré que les coûts variaient beaucoup en fonction de la lourdeur des cas, qui requièrent plus ou moins d’infirmières par patient. De plus, des centres en région éloignée, moins achalandés, ont vraisemblablement des coûts fixes plus imposants et une rémunération parfois majorée pour l’éloignement.
